The camp caters to both the beginner and show rider in Hunter/Jumper and Combined Training disciplines. Riders may bring their own horse, or use one of the well-trained horses from our riding school.

Accredited Riding Instruction

Learn how to ride from the best!

Foothills Farm offers the only lesson program in Northern Ontario with fully certified EC/NCCP riding instructors, which means we produce all levels of riders – from recreational to very active provincial and national competitors.

For details on available types of riding lessons, please refer to our Lessons Rate Card for the upcoming Season.

All group lessons are 1hr in length, offered at various times throughout the day.

Students are grouped according to experience to provide the best possible learning environment.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled lesson time to allow enough time to prepare your horse for riding.

No horse? No problem! We have an excellent selection of experienced resident school horses to suit all levels of riders. We’ll set you up.

Two-day clinics are hosted throughout the fall and winter months by our experienced and reputable international team members, giving students a chance to learn from the best!

We welcome riders from other farms to bring their own horse, or we offer the option to rent a school horse.

Clinics fill up fast so book early to avoid disappointment!

Please contact us to discuss clinic options. (button leads to contact us page)

We encourage safety at all times to ensure a safe and fun environment for the riders and horses.

- All students must wear properly fitted riding helmets and boots with a heel. If you do not have your own riding helmet, you may borrow one from the riding school.

- Long hair should be secured in a ponytail, as to not obstruct your view when riding.

- Gloves are recommended, but not mandatory.

- Remember to always dress for the weather! Our indoor riding arena is not heated during the winter months.

Cancellation Policy

Lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise you will be charged accordingly. Make up lessons will be available for all lessons that are cancelled on our behalf.

For any other special circumstances, please discuss with your riding instructor.
